Examiner of Plays' Summary:

[...] Mr. & Mrs Deuceace have said they are going away on separate visits, but first she comes in with a young man who is making love to her, and on hearing of her husband's arrival hides him in a chest, and then he comes in with a girl and hearing his wife is at home, hides her behind a screen. Both make excuses for staying in the room, a drawing room by the way - not a chance to escape. Both the lover and the girl contrive to escape without being seen by either wife or husband, who think they are still there. Then husband and wife, making the best of it confess and when nobody is discovered, each pretends to have been merely teaching the other a lesson. It is rather an amusing little play. It is of course a little risque, but I think it would be excessive to dwell on the fact that apparently husband and wife were contemplating adultery: nothing happens and it is merely a joke [...]
