Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A children's play. Maisie and Nana and William the gardener have strange experiences in the garden with talking rabbits, Princes Shadows, the Sunshine King and so forth; then they go to the Palace of Reeds to find the imprisoned Princess Sunbeam; then to the other side of the world, where they have adventures with savages, and to Moonland, and so home where Maisie wakes up. It is rather a confused affair and rather tedious to read, but I dare say will be pretty enough. It is of course entirely innocent, but I notice that the author inadvertently describes the savages as Maoris and New Zealanders are sensitive about this: however it is supposed to be only a child's dream and can hardly matter. Recommended for Licence. G. S. Street [The following is written in red ink below] Whether for children or not, it will never do to describe NZs or Maoris as savages. The latter are a very fine race [the remaining text is illegible] S. [The following is written in black ink below and dated 20 May 1916] Undertaking given that there will be no reference to Maoris as savages or vice versa. Licence endorsed accordingly.
