Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a musical farce of the 'revue' pattern, but even more than usually incoherent in its dialogue and action. The 'Lassies' are mill-girls, each with a love-affair, while the mill-owner has his own flirtation with a rich American widow. There is much talk about the sale of the mill to an American millionaire and about the transformation of the concern into a munition factory. Little comes of it, however, except opportunity for the introduction of a series of sentimental and patriotic ditties, together with some dances. The aimless nonsense seems quite innocuous: and is Recommended for License. Ernest A. Bendall
