Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a revised version of a revue with the same name. The plot is much the same: an old Jew and his son dispute about the latter's marriage, and the Jew, who wishes to get into Society", employs a "Society Instructor": there is a more or less comic scene of his clumsy efforts. Some business of living hosiery:, as to which I advised a caution in the old version, does not appear in this, so far as the script indicates, and the dialogue, as formerly, is vulgar but not too offensive. Unless the management has intimated that the songs are the same they must be sent in if new. Recommended for Licence. G. S. Street. April 7th. The songs sent in are harmless, though occasionally vulgar. G. S. S.
