This is a "musical burlesque" or farce, taking its title from the exclamations of a couple of girls on meeting their respective fathers at a public ball to which they have all been forbidden to go, the girls by their fathers and the fathers by their wives. The men have faked up the usual sudden calls to town on sudden business: and the fun of a mild "Pink Domino" order, depends upon their discovery in a series of innocently compromising circumstances.
