The libretto of a comic opera. A costermonger newly elected to the Gypsy throne has embezzled the money of the tribe, and in order to replace it wishes his daughter to marry a rich aristocratic noble. To the distress of her Romany lover the girl consents: but her sacrifice is averted in the nick of time by the news that her lover has made a fortune by his invention of the Mother Shipton Fortune-teller, and is thus able to avery her father's disgrace.
