Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a feeble piece of musical nonsense concerning the troubles of a cracker-maker, whose girls strike because he cannot pay them their wages. In the nick of time there turns up a lawyer with the news that the hero's uncle has left him a fortune on condition that within a given time he doubles the gift of £250 first bequeathed to him. This he proceeds to do, by getting up a Concert-Party: and most of the fun of the responsible rubbish is got out of the burlesque interviews with absurd applicants for membership of the company. Not less innocuous than foolish: and Recommended for License. Ernest A. Randall.
