Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A revue with a very scanty plot, apparently devised solely for the introduction of various popular ditties of the day such as that form which it takes its name. The son of a munitions-factory proprietor is desire by his father to marry a lady of title; but he persists in making a pretty factory-hand his wife. There follow some burlesque scenes of the training of the humble bridge for her new position; and then, for no particular reason, the whole party transfers itself, first to a rose-garden and then to a 'palace of dramas' and to the 'orange grove of Seville'. Such fun as the nonsense can boast is provided by the eccentrics of a comic foreman in the factory, who is in love with the usual stage-struck slavery. Recommended for License, Ernest A. Bendall
