Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a miniature burlesque of the methods of the popular revue of today. It begins by dismissing in a few lines the whole of the plot, which concerns the theft of a diamond necklace. Thence it proceeds to a skit upon Rag-time melody, and to the usual amateur duet between the fireman and the cleaner, both anxious to become 'artists'. It winds up with the inevitable bathing-scene for a stage-Venus, whose costume is, it may be presumed, kept within the bounds of decency generally observed at the Coliseum. Recommended for Licence. Ernest A. Bendall. [the following is added in pen below and dated 16/2/16] W Croxton Manager of the Coliseum assures me that this is purely a burlesque and that no question would be raised as regards costume. S.
