Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

Cooper, as Lady Swanton's agent, abused his position to raise the rents without her knowledge and pocket the difference. He also put pressure on Mr Ashton to gain the hand of Miss Ashton. But fortunately Mr. Ashton's coachman was really Lady Swanton's heir in disguise: he dismissed Cooper and proposed to Miss Ashton himself. Cooper, defeated, shot himself. This ingenuous rubbish is without offence. Recommended for Licence. G. S. Street
