Going Some
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a musical revue of the usual patter, with just a thread of plot to string together its song dances and scenes. These latter are laid in a Cornish villages, and at Belfridge's, an American store which includes a theatre among its department: at that theatre has been engaged a Russian danseus, who, having quarrelled with the manager, has run away to Cornwall to hide, and is followed by a comic detective who wants to arrest her as a German spy. Another member of the company who goes to Cornwall is the leading actor who promptly falls in love with a village belle and takes her up to town where she goes on the stage Belfridges. Whenever interest in the mid story flags there is introduced a new disguise for the comic detective, who eventually proves to be a bookmaker down on his luck. There is no hint of harm in the pointless nonsense and the songs are stated to be published ones.
