Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

The rehearsal is that of the role of the burglarious "Gentleman Joe" by an amateur, whose friend has told him he cannot possibly act the part. The injured amateur's retort is a private performance in which, paying his critic a visit by night, he terrifies him into handing over his valuables and writing a cheque before the "burglar" discloses his identity.
