Great War Theatre

Vernon Proctor was an author, actor, theatre manager, playwright and businessman. He came from Portsmouth and began working in the theatre aged 22 and was a full-time actor until his fifties. He wrote more than 21 plays and on retiring from the stage became a printer. At 83 he went travelling looking for material for a book he was writing. He died at Cosham, aged 88 in late 1966.
