Dorothy Mullord
According to a public family tree on Ancestry.co.uk Hannah Dorothy Mullord was born on 16 November 1889 in Islington, London, and died on 13 March 1963. By the time of the 1911 census she was an actress, living in Fulham with a friend Adderley Howard, an actor. (An A. Howard is shown in the Great War Theatre database as the co-author with Dorothy Mullord of The Story of the Angelus and also as the sole author of What A Bird.) Allardyce Nicoll, English Drama 1900-1930, lists her as the author of fourteen plays between 1910 and 1927. She also ran her own theatre company: the Dorothy Mullord Company performed Married On Leave at Collins Music Hall in March 1923; and when the Dorothy Mullord London Repertory Company presented Married On Leave at Devonport in 1928 it was during their thirty-ninth week at that theatre. In 1928 Dorothy married Joseph L Alsop who died in 1932, administration of his estate being granted to his widow Hannah Dorothy. The 1939 register shows Hannah Dorothy Alsop, born on 16 November 1890 [sic], a widow, a chef cook in Nutley, Sussex.
