Gladys Davidson was born Louise Gladys Davidson in Leamington in 1874. She is best known for writing opera books and children's stories. Her works include 'Standard Stories from the Opera', 'New Stories of Grand Oper', 'Stories from Gilbert and Sullivan', 'Sinbad's Seven Voyages', 'he Arabian Nights Selected and Retold for Children', and 'Talking of Animals'. In 1917 she was appointed General Secretary of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies. She died aged 88 on 3 December 1962.
